TSP Y merge vs. flowmaster merge....questions

Default TSP Y merge vs. flowmaster merge....questions

i currently have a tsp catted Y and i am very pleased with it..... except for the merge. when comparing it to the QTP merge, theres just no comparison. what am i losing by stayign with the tsp y vs. goign with some qtp and their flowmaster merge on the Y, thansk!

I'll be honest I haven't studied either Y merge collector at length. The better design will produce less turbulance and less restriction and have better scavenging properties.

But to what extent I don't know. At the level of performance your motor is currently at I doubt there would be any significant benefit from the QTP one.

I may be wrong, but is the QTP a 4" collector?

If you where cammed and producing ~400rwhp then a 3.5-4" Y pipe and catback with the best merge collector should see a difference in performance, maybe as much as 20-25rwhp. But with out doing back to back dyno and track tests there is little way of telling how much difference.

Your current setup will serve you pretty well to over 400rwhp so I probably wouldn't worry about it until you have done the rest of the mods you want to do.

Thanks for teh reply! thats just it, in the near future i see.......... MUCH more horsepower and didnt want ti to be a the bottleneck
