Default ~what the hell is this inside my LSX 90mm intake?

what was FAST thinking? now granid, its flowing OVER this ridge and not into it, but STILL why is it there? every single port has this 3/16" ridge...what purpose does it serve other than disturb the airflow and restrict?

so you have something to port! Just smooth it out. I think everyone does. If you port match the manifold, it will go away.

Everybody that I know, myself included, has had their FAST 90s ported to remove those ridges. It's really not that big of a deal, but it does make you wonder why in the hell the ridges are there in the first place.

The ports of the FAST intake on display at the new SummitRacing Superstore in Georgia looked exactly the same. AFR recommends porting the FAST intake anyway.

so, befopre installing it, i should port those ridges smooth.

Wat about port matching the intake to the heads? I have 6.0L heads and the fast 90mm intake...any suggestions on the witness depths?

yeah it wasnt hard, but yeah thats my point, why did they make the mold that way on a $800 intake thats claiming to be the best on the market?

I usually recommend porting to all my customers that purchase this intake, and I do agree that it is a little hard to believe that they mold the intake this way

Probably because their is no QC in place. They are made FOR F.A.S.T. and they probably just ship them out as fast as they get them to the various vendors and direct sales.

that is a guage for the maximum amount of allowable port matching, if a shop ports it for you, they dial set the machine to that depth and away you go. also it is in the instructions that came with your manifold, if they were looked at

Ummm, I think you're looking at those grooves, not the "ridge" (ski jump). There's no mention whatsoever about that ridge in the instructions.

The little grooves top and bottom of each runner exit are porting guides. The "wedge" is just a PITA.
