I'm thinking about using a Jet Hot coating on the Y-pipe I'm gonna get so I can scrap some of the heat shielding. If I order one with high flow cats, will the cat stay under ~1300 degrees F? I want to make sure I won't burn the coating off.

The high flow cats don't usually line up with the stock heat shielding.

So what you're saying is, the stock heat shielding really wouldn't help that much if left on there then.
