How badly is my catalytic TTS Y-pipe hurting me? X-pipe setup over axle?
I have a set of TTS headers bolted to the TTS 3" catalytic Y-pipe going into an SLP Loudmouth system. I'm content with it, but I know I must be missing out on some power compared to my friends with the 2.5" Dr. Gax X-setup. My engine features most/all of the essential boltons with a set of ARE S1 heads and a TR 224 cam. It made 406/387 and I'm thinking I have a little more available once I go with an X-setup.
One of my concerns is with extending a dual 2.5" or 3" X-pipe setup to the rear. I've heard of people routing theirs under the axle, and that doesn't sound too appealing. What's the best way to extend the pipes to the rear and does anyone have a recommendation for a system which flows better than what I'm sporting?
