ORY vs. Catted vs. ORY w/bullet
I have LM and am ordering some coated Pacesetter LT's and probably an ORY. What do you guys think I should go with? I like loudness but rasp can really start to suck!!!

i have a ory and pacesetters on a flowmaster muffler and its raspy as **** i can imagine a bullet will be much worse.. im switching to a catted Y the noise is not worth 5hp and hassles of inspection

I'm in the same boat with the LM, ORY and LT Headers. Crazy loud and raspy.
However, I think the exhaust gas got to me and now I'm growing fond of the LM loudness, but the rasp has to go and a little lower rumble is what I'm after.
I'll probably be going dynomax for price and fit issues. But I'd love to hear other people's opinions on this too!

From what I've read (no experience yet), borla or dyno mouth won't make it any quieter or grandma-friendly, but will improve the rasp, add a lower rumble, and maybe remove a little bit of the drone. But it will still be a attention-getting trouble-making loudmouth, true to its name. :-)
I'm just not sure how the dynomouth compares to the borla. Ls1sounds.com has some good samples of the dynomouth, but not alot of the borlamouth. And sound clips never do it justice.
I do know $50 < $125 :-) (Plus clearance problems with Borla)

I actually just installed pacesetter longtubes and an offroad y pipe two days ago and I have a loudmouth catback, I thought it was going to sound terrible but it actually sounds pretty good. It is a little raspy and its loud as hell inside the car but everyone of my friends that has heard it loves it and I think it sounds MEAN.....Get the longtubes and offroad y pipe, if its too loud get a spiraltech or borla to replace the resonator.

I have the dynomouth now and it helped a lot with the rasp. Still occassionly gets raspy at part throttle, but a lot better than it was with loudmouth. It's still just as loud just a different tone.

A well built catted Y with GOOD cats will not rob you of more than a few ponies ... the benefits:
-No rasp
-No fumes
-Legal to pass inspections
-No drone
-No discoloring of the back bumper
-A better sounding exhaust note (subject to opinion of course)
IMO, the only time to ditch the cats is if you were going w/ duals and you wanted the classic old school big block sound.

i have mac-mids and a 3" ory w/ bullet, i think it has a nice and deep sound at idle however within time, it kinda gets annoying with your car when you start hearing little rattles here and there and the sound of the exhaust drones out your radio and whenever your talking on your cell you really can't hear that well, especially when its used as a daily driver...at wot, imho, i think its LOUD, has no rasp, nd it sounds awesome, but i'll probably switch back to a catback...hope this helps

I have pacesetter LT's, ory slp y, and a loudmouth (had to due some cutting to the y) all i kno is that it sounds freakin awesome, not much rasp at all. I feel that it's actually less annoying than just the loudmouth because its a nice deep tone. I was shocked how quiet it is inside the car too, no vibrations at all, only prob is when floored the po's can hear for miles behind
