Default Header gasket melted

Well when we first put my headers on we just stuck the paper gaskets on there because we needed to get them done that day. Well now I bought some oem ones to put on but when I tried to pull the paper gaskets out parts of them are melted to the header. I can't rotate the header enough to scrape it very good. Any ideas on what I could do or use to get the gasket off of the header? Thanks

Worse case scenerio you need to pull the headers. How thick is it where its stuck. The oem metal gaskets might be able to still seal. Sorry I couldnt be more help, but like you already said, there isnt much room to work with them in the car.

Maybe you could spray soak them in some sort or cleanser or something to get them to loosen up, then scrape it off.

Dude i have the same problems. i installed pacesetters with their gaskets and not aftermarket ones, About 2 weeks later i end up with a bad exhaust leak, so I bought layerd gaskets (percys) and I couldnt get to scrape it all of caus e was in a rush and thought the new gasket should seal, what happened? I know have the biggest leak that i dont even drive it and its my D.D. The moral of my story is take the time to pull the header and scrape it REALLY GOOD. Do it right the first time, trust me i learned the hard way. good luck bro.

If there's room you could try a small wire wheel on a drill.
