Default Anyone done a 4 inch cutout over a 3 inch?

Well, I just installed a QTP ory on my car. I still have a bit of adjusting to do clearance wise, but otherwise a pretty good piece. I especially like the flowmaster merge collector it has.

The outlet of the flowmaster merge is a 4 inch diameter, and I am wondering if a 4 inch QTEC would be beneficial over the 3 inch I currently have? Any opinions on this?

Also, FWIW I fired up the car with an open y pipe. Holy **** that thing is loud, and it sounds mean. It is definitely louder than my jet-hot y-pipe was when it was wide open.

At your current power level 3" is adequate.

You think that's loud try open headers.

I just had one of our cars on East Sides dyno yesturday. On a 402 with a 4" cutout, the engine made a 10 hp & 18 tq difference from open to closed. This isn't just peak #'s. There was a big difference across the board.

What was the rest of the exhaust?

How much power was it making?

4" mufflex behind the cut-out. Dyno #'s were 515 RWHP / 494 RWTQ N/A.
