SLP package Question
OK guys, I night even purchase this item before I ge any responses, but here I go anyways....
http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=21047
The Cold Air package by SLP with the Airlid, smooth bellows, cold air induction kit and K&N filter.
Will I see a difference in my 1/8 mile times?
I already have a K&N filter, but that is all. My best time with a Free mod and some 100 octane was 8.520 @ 86.23 mph ( I also had Nitto 555R P245/50 R 16 tires on teh rear)
My car is a 2002 Camaro Z28 ( LS1 of course) with a 6 speed manual, non convertible, metallic Pewter.
Im just wondering if the Cold Air package is worth it, if I will see a power gain both at the track and on the dyno(mustang Dynamometer) and if there are better cold air packages available
Thanks

I bought it and felt some difference but it was mostly just the lid from what Ive read after I bought it. The bellow is good for something but not for 50 bux. And the aluminum "ram air" piece ive heard only helps out at really high speeds such as over 100 MPH. So if I were to do it again I would just but a lid and leave it at that and save the rest of your $$$ for future mods

it has decent gains but not for the money, i bought that whole set up used for 60 bux. fast toys performance sells a better undercar ram air kit thats better for the the money i heard. they also have a kit that turns your slp cold air into a ram air for 50 bux.

Waste of money IMO. The intake isn't that great, should got a SSRA or FTRA, the smooth bellow does almost nothing, besides clean up the engine bay slightly, and the lid is the only thing that is worth anything and it's only $99 brand new. So I would try to cancel my order and search around for different parts like everyone else has mentioned.

you can buy the fast toys ram air and get a lid and filter, but i bought the cold air pac and bought the ram air extension because it ended up being the same price as buying averything seperate but i got the smooth bellows with the cold air pac, so i got a little extra for the same price.
speedinc has a decent price on the slp stuff (free shipping too) and i got the extension from fasttoys.
i honestly cant tell a difference after i put it all on, but i guess every little bit helps, and im going back to the track today, so we will see

Well I guess I'm the only one who likes this package. I definately noticed a difference after the install. What do you think got me into the 12s? My mod list is a loudmouth and the SLP flowpac (SLP Stage 1 Performance Package). I'm running 8.3 in the 1/8 and consistant 12.9s @ 108 -109 in the 1/4. Can't say that you'll see the same gains, but thought I'd chime in since its working for me. These are the only HP mods I would get from SLP though.

Mine didn't fit well either, but the Dyno seemed to like it.
I think the aluminum duct under the lid does somthing....if you look at my dirty K&N all the dirt seems to be concentrated at where the scoop would shoot air at the filter...and I seldom drive above 100mph
Plus anytime you work on your car it's faster...except if you are putting ricer stickers, spinner wheels, or any other gay ricer mod you can think of.

My next mod, after new brakes, will be intake. Now, I don't know if I should just get a lid, or a FTRA also.
