Default strange noise

after having cats welded on to my headers and the exhaust connected i slowly started hearing a ticking sound not a metal to metal tick but kinda like an exhaust leak. its loudest under neath the drivers door where the header meets the cat. is this a leak or do i have a major problem?

sounds like a leak, did the cat slip fit over the header or does it have the bolt on connection with the gasket??? but sounds like a crappy welding job and the exhaust leak could be coming from the top where he may not have welded it, or you just possibly be in your head and your hearing it more b/c its louder and more exhaust is going through it.

it is a slip on cat that is welded but it started happening sporadically i thought it was an exhaust leak but wanted to be 100% sure before i confronted the shop that did the welding.

man, you welded right to the headers? Wow, hope you never have a tranny issue. That would be a pain to get out. Also what about motor mounts, whew. They would be a pain to have to always work around.

yeah i was thinking the same thing about the cats, but on stock manifolds they were right after the manifolds but wasnt sure about long tubes since i have an ORY. thats gonna be a pain in the *** to get off the headers.

yeah i wasnt thrilled when i the shop welded them but oh well im going to take it back to them and make them fix it also i paid 150 for the pacesetter headers so if they last 2 yrs i am going to be happy and i am already thinking of stepping up to true duals.
