Re: help on U/D pully?
You are going to need a pulley puller to get the stock pulley off. I used a 3 claw puller that I bought at Discount Auto Parts.
If you have a M6 put the car in 5th or 6th gear, and use a torque wrench or breaker bar to break the stock pulley bolt free. If you have a A4 you will need to use something to lock the flextplate from spinning. I jam a screw driving in mine, just to break the pulley bolt free.
Once you get the old pulley bolt free completely remove it. Then thread it back in about 2-3 turns so just its just threaded back in a little. Install the pulley puller claws and hook them to the pulley, tighten the center post on the claw down onto the center of the crank pulley bolt.
Make sure the claw is centered and has an even grab on the 3 hooks, tighten the center post. As you tighten it will pull the pulley forward. Pull it as far as you it will go then remove the pulley puller, and then the pulley bolt. You should now be able to grab the stock pulley with both hands with a little carefull rocking slide the old pulley off the crank.
Put a little motor oil around the inside of the new balancer pulley and put it on the crank. Install the old pulley bolt and tighten it down to slid the new pulley onto the crank. Once the pulley is seated all the way remove the old pulley bolt and install a brand new one.
Now you can tighten the new pulley bolt to spec.
I hope this makes sense, I've been awake for like 20 hours right now and I'm typing this half awake <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
Aight good luck.

oh yea PS: you don't need to remove any AC or radiator parts, if you can raise up the front end, I use a pair of Rino Ramps all the time. They are great to just drive up on when you need to raise the front end up. You are going to need some room when you it comes time to torque down the new crank pulley bolt.
