Who makes best y-pipe?
Who makes the best fitting and best bang for the buck y-pipe for a 99 LS1? I want to run the stock headers and cats but I have a Hooker cat-back and I want to make it a little louder.

Re: Who makes best y-pipe?
look into a hooker y-pipe, however if as you said you are are wanting louder than get an ORYP and hooker has a good one for the stock application.

If your car is a '99, one side of Y must be welded on...LG Motorsports makes a nice 2&3/4" Y for '00-'02's (bolt-on). Maybe he makes a '98-99 one also...Check his site. I have the bolt-on & it's a real quality piece... WJ.

Trojan: Have not run my car at track yet in '03. New England still has us pinned down w/winter. The LG piece is A-1. I'm installing it w/gutted cats, so I'm sure the Dual-Dual exh. will be a little noisier. Hoping for a few more ponies, but the timeslips will tell the final story for me...WJ.

Re: Who makes best y-pipe?
NO, No, No... The Borla y-pipe is a piece of sh!#...
The tailend is two pieces, flaired out, & welded... It's so bad that this tailend costs you as much HP as the bigger pipes gain...
Just look inside the tailend of the Borla y-pipe, & you'll see thats it's bad mojo...

Re: Who makes best y-pipe?
I got my SLP Y-pipe from Thunder Racing.
Excellent fit and clearance.

Re: Who makes best y-pipe?
I'd go with either the LG Motorsports y-pipe or a custom job. I too am getting close to deciding which y-pipe to get and currently the LG is in the lead because of the larger diameter piping.

Re: Who makes best y-pipe?
I have a bassani off road y and when I first got it, one of the welds would scrape my driveshaft at full throttle and more than 3/4 tank of gas, fixed it by tying it down w/ steel

Re: Who makes best y-pipe?
Does anyone else other than Bassini make a bolt-on cat-less off road BOLT ON Y for '01-'02 F bodies? That's bolt on to the exhaust manifolds and int. pipe out back. No cats w/02 simms. No headers. Thanks. WJ.
