Question on edelbrock shorties
I just found a pair of these quite cheap, brand new. Until I come up with the money for LT's, would I gain ANYTHING on a '98 model car to make it worth spending $100 for them? I'd be doing the install myself, so no need to factor in installation labor.

If you went with the shorties with an ORY, you'd definitely pick up a few horses. If you kept the stock y-pipe, the gains would probably be between 4-8hp. If I were you, I'd hold on until I could get long-tubes and an ORY. That's where you'll really see the gains. Just my $.02 though...

If you plan on LTs later, save the $100 and put it toward getting the LTs sooner. I think the trouble changing the parts is more of a pain than the gains are worth. IMHO.

Also agreed. I'd be pretty pissed after spending a few hours installing the headers, then not able to tell that much of a difference . Save for the LT's, you'll thank us and yourself later.
