Default Free Ram Air Mod (FRA) and Hood Seal...Please help

Team:
I have posted this before but didn't get right answer.

I performed FRA mod by falling exact instructions on install univ.com ( Cut the lower air box Cut the plastic air baffle in rear below the air box near radiator.) and also taken nostil baffles out. Here are my questions:

1) Does FRA mod help on WS6

2) If it helps, Is there any sense of sealing the airbox to the hood with weatherstrip foam on 2002 WS6 if I have already done a free ram air mod.

The reason i am asking is because I have cut the plastic air baffle below the rear of air box near the radiator/condenser. This is the small plastic piece as described towards end of instructions.

How would sealing the airbox help yhen since air is entering from 2 directions now eg. from nostrils and under the car.

Thanks

Adnan

I really don't think it matters. I have de-baffeled my hood and sealed the hood to the airbox. To check to see if either was better, I ran the car at the track with the hood sealed but with the opening under the airbox open also. I then taped up the opening under the airbox and ran it again. Didn't see a difference between the two either way. The hood being sealed off might keep some hot air out of the induction track.
The best looking set-up I've seen as far as getting a real ram effect would be the super sucker, especially with the track only attachment on it. In this case, I would think I might try to seal the front of the air box and rely completely on air from the bottom.
Ram effect with our hood sccoops will be minimal at best. It's mostly cool air induction. Now if you had a pro-stock or a old Mopar 6-pack scoop-that would be different.
I posted before on this and can give you my experience on it. I de-baffeled the hood, enlarged the hood opening and sealed it to the airbox. Like I said above, I tried sealing up the bottom of the air box also-no difference.
As for gains, I can't really prove any. The days that I went to the track before and after were too different to tell if the mod made any more power. I also do not have a calibrated butt-ometer like some folks do-they can change oil and swear they picked up 3 HP by the seat of their pants
I can tell you that I get alot of bugs splattered on the air box and the filter gets dirtier faster. Does splattered bugs and dirty filter prove more power? No.
My best time has been a 12.97@108mph, my only mods are a lid and a SLP mass air {which didn't help a bit, as I swap them at the track and see nothing} a couple of the free mods {cutting back the EGR tube, coolant by-pass on the throttle body and the already stated hood thing}. I have a stock clutch that will not do better than a 1.90 sixty foot. The car is a 2000 model. I know there are some cars that run better than mine-with less mods., but I have yet to be outrun at the track by a car with somewhat equal mods. Bottom line is - I think it helps, not alot-but some.
Btw, go out and experiment-find stuff out for yourself as too many people will tell you all kinds of crap. Maybe me included!
