Air Intake Upgrade Suggestions
Hey Guys, I have an 01 WS6 Trans Am. I am trying to decide on my next air intake upgrade. I've heard about the second baffle in the hood removal. Does this really help much and do I chance ingesting some rainwater into my air intake if I do this? I've also seen the free ram air mod on LS1.com. Would this help my ram air car? If I did both would it hinder the airflow? I've also seen the FTRA kit and SLP has one too, what about these?
My current air intake mods:
SLP air lid
K&N air filter
Descreened stock MAF sensor
SLP smooth bellows

FTRA, When you do the free air mod you will see how resticted the air box is. FTRA will follow soon when you see what i am talking about. Its not that expensive and goes in line with the mods you have. Air in, Air Out is a great place to start with are hotrods. Good Luck
P.S cant help you with the hood question. Mine is a Z28

The FTRA and SLP CAI are good. If you want something a little more radical check out the Supersucker. It actually has a scoop mounted under the bumper to scoop up air. LM Performance and Speed Inc sell them.

alright that sounds good and all but what do you guys think about going the other way. Keeping the box sealed and going for the Brian Green system?

Yes I removed the rear baffle and drilled 5 1" holes per snorkle and then put the honeycombs back in I use a holly pwrshot and YES you will see quite a improvement, just dont get crazy when its raining or go through deep puddles at 60 and you will be very happy.
