Default Tried to start car today after coil relocation, loud popping noises!!

I installed one side of the Jay Fisher coil relocation kit. I started working on the other side and slightly brushed a coil with a drill bit. So, I decided to start it up and see if everything is going good before I install that side. I hooked everything up, and as soon as I tried to start it I heard backfiring/detonation...a loud popping anyway. I shut the car off. This is did not happen before I installed the relocation kit, so I'm assuming it has to do with it. I also just put some gas in the car, but it was 93 octane, so I'm assuming it isn't detonation. What could it be? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Also, when I got it to idle before, I heard a slight whistling sound at idle, but didn't notice it when I held it anywhere above idle.

Sounds like you may have those 1st four coils you did wired backwards...

Double check everything.

Where can I buy one of these Jay Fisher Coil Relocation kits. I tried his homepage and it takes me to some generic webpage for autodealers.
How much $$ are they?
Thanks,
Jeremy

Email Jay (above in his profile) for ordering. He takes Paypal.

I bought his brackets. They look nice. Will definitely save me time and the hassle of putting it all together - knowing me, it'd take me 2 hours in Home Depot alone just to find the freakin' parts. The brackets are something like $49 or so.

I opted out of the coil wires, tho. Precut and assembled wires are $180 or so. I saw them on Jason99T/A's car this past weekend, they look *very* nice. But I'll roll my own.

HTH,

Andrew

THanks a lot! I finally got it going good, but then when I changed the coils into the right position, it wouldn't start again. I must have turned the connectors around.

The kit is very nice. It's a bitch trying to drill through the brackets though, atleast with my tools. The only thing I would change is get some black plug wires and pre-drilled brackets.

Does it matter what coil goes where, or just how they are wired up?

I realize this has become external engine instead of internal, so if someone can answer this for sure, I'll delete it or the mods can move it.
