ARP pulley bolt torque?
Just bought a ARP pully bolt and was wondering if the torque is the same as when you use your old pulley bolt to torque your pulley down to 240ftlbs? Anyone know if it's the same?

Re: ARP pulley bolt torque?
I spoke with ARP yesterday about this. The bolt uses OEM torque specs. It is not torque to yield however and is reusable. Just my opinion but I would not use it for seating the balancer.

Re: ARP pulley bolt torque?
Hey Joe, I know you're just going to be using the old bolt to seat the new pulley but be careful when using the old bolt, I've read where guys have broke there old bolt off.
Later,
Al
P.S. What size is the bolt, I'm wondering if I might have a tool for you to use?

Re: ARP pulley bolt torque?
Hey Al, yea I've heard of some people breaking the stock bolt but I'll bet that their torque wrench wasn't calibrated proper. The bolt is a 12 point 27mm head and I bought it from a local parts place they had to order it from ARP, the part # is 234-2503 and it list for $45 and I got it for $37.

I think it would be alot easier to torque that bolt down standing under the car pulling down than any other way. I have a install tool I made for the pulley when I did the cam install last year. I'm getting ready to install the heads next week if your feeling bored. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
