Default Running cats and just deleting AIR

Does anybody run cats even after they did !AIR and !EGR? I've been trying to search a bit but can't find any good info on the disadvantages. From what I understand, AIR is only really used when you start your car cold. It's supposed to save your cats by 'lighting' them off earlier.

But anyway, I want to keep my cats just because they clean up the exhaust sound and prevent exhaust from smelling. But is removing AIR going to reduce the life of the cats that much?

It's meant to help the car reach "emissions light off" faster. I run no AIR/EGR and have 2 magnaflow 3" cats in my system. They've been on for about 9k miles with no problems so far.

So basically, I won't even be able to tell the difference. We have no testing here for emissions so that makes it easy. The cats should still last just as long with or without AIR.
