Did anyone else run into this? I just installed my Pacesetter LT's with a 3" X-pipe and turndowns, I had to take off the small cross member that sits behind the transmission and under the stock exhaust. There is absolutely no way that I can run that cross member with my new set up. How much does that cross member really do for structual stability, or maybe it's not there for that at all. It's pretty thin so I don't really see how it could do that much. I am planning on getting weld in subframe connectors in the near future. Just wondering how critical is that piece.

Take that bitch off and use it as a christmas tree ornament. It's so thin because it's a "driveshaft safety brace". It is supossed to catch the driveshaft should it break at the tranny. If you've got an x-pipe sitting there, it's probably going to do the same thing. I've read it called the "tunnel brace" for years, and just found out it's real purpose a while back.

That person might have been full of **** though............

It will have to be hanging from a sturdy branch. bigger than your avg. ornament.

Yeah, I agree it might be too heavy for a christmas tree branch, I was thinking of something along the lines of a rearview mirror.
