Default 1 chamber flows after axle

just installed pacesetter coated lts and ory last week,
with the tsp rumbler. I had the bullet removed awhile back so needless to say it's quite loud now. so I got a coupe 1 chamber flowmasters and I'm having them installed in the morning right behind the rear bumper. Anyone else mounted 1 chambers back there? I think it will sound pretty bad *** for those of you that have the 1 chambers, do they have that signature flowmaster sound like the 2 chamber 40 series?

I've got 2 chambers on my truck and 1 chambers on the camaro. They have very similar overall tone, but 1 chambers are twice as loud. Soundclips of both are in sig. I think your proposed setup will sound pretty good, although I'm curious to see how you plan on mounting them.

single chamber flows in a y-pipe setup should sound interesting. while i don't think they'll sound as deep as a true dual setup, i imagine them to still sound pretty decent. i'm very curious. single chamber flows in a catback, hmm...

How are the flow characteristics of the 1 chambers? I know the 80 series sucks, what about these?

Agreed 100%. They definitely have that "old school" Flowmaster sound, but are just extremely loud.

But why not have a good 3" true dual X or H-pipe set-up fabbed up dumping these 1-chambers before the axle? I have that (w/ an H) off of some LT's minus cats and while I like other true duals set-ups, no other one quite compares to this one.

I too am curious how they would compare on a single exhaust/Y-pipe set-up, but it still won't sound or flow as good as the duals...

ehhh Ive heard 1 chambers and personally I dont really like them, I would compare them more to glasspacks or the LM muffler, not the 40 series....

You must have had your fingers in your ears....not even remotely close to the sound of a bullet style muffler. Similar volume levels maybe, but the tone is very similar to a 40 series.....I have both 40's and 10's on my vehicles.

As far as I'm concerned, it's the best sounding car on LS1tech.com

Yea, i'm gonna have to disagree here. I have ran numerous mufflers on my TD setup, and by far, the Flowmaster 1-chambers trump them all in sound quality. They are LOUD though.

Matter of fact, slowly but surely all the TD guys in the local club are converting to flowmaster 1-chamber setups now that they've heard it. As of now there are 4 of us just locally that have a TSP TD setup and are running the flowmaster 1-chambers

Can you try and get some drive by clips?

That's mostly how I judge how good a setup, but yours does sound pretty nice from inside.

I got them installed this morning and couldn't be happier, they are nice and loud with that signature sound. The mufflers fit in the back just fine, no problems. They just had to angle them a little. The sound is real deep, which is what I was going for, also very loud when you hit the go pedal.
