Default stock vs ws6 ram air

i have a trans am with a ws9 hood... i was wondering if anybody knew what kind of gains if any i would get from swapping the stock air filter housing with a ws6 housing? im calling it a housing because im not sure exactly what its called(the black piece that sits on top of the radiator).. im askign because ive noticed the ws6 sits higher then the trans am(for the extra nostrils)?

Yeah the ws6 filter housing sits higher to take advantage of the ram air, for what it's worth. You would probably gain little to nothing by switching, save it for other mods.

It might help a little at speed, but is it worth the money for the swap is your choice.

I've got a WS.9 Outlaw, and just a regular T/A airbox with the FRA mod. Didn't feel like I picked up any power with either mod, but maybe it helps a little on the highway. As hard as it was to find the lower WS.6 airbox when I was looking for one, I just gave up.
