Default Kooks Y Pipe

I have had a set of KOOKS 1 7/8s headers installed today and my mechanic say the y pipe is going to probably hit the floor when I turn the steering wheel hard.Has anyone else got a Kooks y pipe banging problem?

I don't know about the 1 7/8, but I have regular 1 3/4 and Kooks Catted Y and the Y-pipe don't bang at all. I didn't do anything else. No Poly Motor Mounts, No Mufflex Bump Stop, No heater hose, nothing but bolt them in. Not a peep from the Y hitting the floor.

My catted Y bangs occasionally. It was much worse before new tranny and motor mounts went in. It seems to be a common problem.

My Kooks ORY doesn't bang because I put an old valve spring between the floor and exhaust. No vibrations either. It did bang before the spring, but almost all y-pipes do without a fix.
