Default Lsx header question

Since the LSX model engine doesnt have EGR than is there no emissions problems, (block off plates, pcm reprograming) that you have with the LTX model engines when installing headers?

if you have a 98-00 LS1 you have EGR. All LS1's have AIR. if you get race style headers, without EGR and AIR provisions then you have to eleminiate your EGR (98-00) and/or AIR (98-01) and tune them out of your PCM to avoid an SES light. if you dont get race headers with EGR and/or AIR, and you still want to eleminate them then you have to remove the pumps and plumbing, block off the boss's on the headers and tune them out of your PCM to avoid an SES light.

otherwise, if you dont want to worry about tuning and blocking, just get the headers with EGR and AIR provisions and hook them up like they should be. your only gain will be only clean air in the intake, and if your going ORY then you dont need your air pump.

And one other thing if you have true duals, will your engine run diffrent than going to an H pipe or Y pipe or something? Or are they all the same just the thought that counts?

X>H>Y but not enough difference to worry about.

there are many write ups on True Duals. otherwise, 01-02 are the same. they have no EGR. if you buy race style headers, they dont have provisions for EGR or AIR. they will work on any 98-02 LS1 F-body. remove the AIR pump and EGR if you have a 98-00, and remove the AIR only if you have a 01-02. because the 01-02 do not have an EGR valve. if you get the headers specifically for 01-02, they only have provisions for AIR. not EGR. Race headers=No EGR, No AIR remove and have them tu ned out of your computer. otherwise, if they are year specific, hook all emissions up just like you would stock mainfolds.
