I have melted the OEM wire that hooks into the front O2 sensor plug. In other words, this wire comes down from the engine bay and plugs into the fron O2. Is this wire just an extension or what would I ask for when I look for the replacement part?

It's part of the engine wiring harness.

You're going to have to cut out the melted section and install new lengths of wire in its place.
