Default Mellings high volume oil pump

What does a high volume oil pump do and is it worth putting on a H/C car? Will it add RWHP and RW Torque? What are the benefits and drawbacks of it?

Thanks,

It will ensure that your main/rod/cam bearings will be well lubed at all times under all conditions, and that your hydraulic lifters always operate properly.

A high volume or high pressure pump will not increase power, it might actually show an insignificant reduction in power. The increased demand over stock pumps require a bit more power.
