Default pacesetter headers with y-pipe question

i got some headers and a y-pipe from pace setters and they gave me a y-pipe for a sigale cat car. my car is a 95 and it has dual cats. the guy has not gotin back to me yet and i hate waiting. so can i make it work with the new y-pipe i have now? i know i am not keeping my cats. have any of you guys made a custom y-pipe befor? i was thinking of just cutting off the factory y pipe with cats. bolting up what i have now and making a pipe to go fom my new y-pipe to the i pipe.
any ideas?? thanks
