I'm converting a truck motor to ls1 style so I need one. Is this a good alternative to the stock ls1 crank pulley?

negatives?

nobody has answered any of my questions.....it's not an underdrive pulley, from what i can read, whats the damper function? can it be worse than a stocker?
edit: here is an informative reply:

yes, all motors are helped by a good crank damper...
the damper does two jobs....
a) it helps smooth out the firing pulses (even tho 8's are pretty well balanced, the can still use the help)
b) it balances the weight of the flywheel/tourqe converter at the other end of the crank.
as far a that one being a good one....i dunno. i haven't done enough research on domestic applications to answer that.

Each power stroke accelerates the crankshaft, and each compression stroke deccelerates it;
so the spinning crank sees (to use an electrical analogy) DC + AC ripple...
the ripples can resonate (i.e. get bigger) at the various harmonic frequencies...
so the damper is required to quiet down these resonant ripples;
the pulley/damper is also called the harmonic balancer.

Don't forget factory crank dampners are tuned to a specific rpm. If you are planning on spending alot of time outside of the factories "guess" are where the engine will live, you will need a tuned dampner for your application.
