Which sensor drives A/C clutch?
Car is -98 Z28 A4
For some reason my A/C clutch is not disengageing properly when temperature goes below 40F. The main problem starts when temperature goes to 32 or under.
When engine is cold started it seems that cluch is engaged and keep engaged until engine bay gets warm. When temperature is under 14 it does not disengage at all. When outside temperature is back to 32 or so it suddenly disengages and loud metallic rubbing noice can be heard some time after. This hapens of course when heat is turned to windshield(frost remove)
Where should I start to seek the problem? It seems to be related to the sensor that quides the A/C. If I remember correctly A/C shoud not engage if temperature is under 40 or so? Does anybody know which sensor I should check? Or is this mechanical problem?
