Default Bad gas milage with new L/Ts

ok, so las weekend i installed my pacesetters and TSP catted y. Now it seems i have to get gas every 3 days(i drive 40 miles 1 way to work). Now obviously im in it alittle more, but not enough for my milage to be this bad now! What do u guys think, im runin the stock o2s. Should i get the corvette ones. had a buddy hook up his programmer after install and it showed that my car was running leaner, so the headers are working.

Your pcm has to re-calibrate itself for your new exhaust. it does this in your short and long term fuel trim. monitor your long term fuel trim. pos numbers mean lean and neg numbers mean rich.

so this is just indicative of not having a tune? Cause the computer showed that the car was runing lean.

You're complaining about 240 miles a tank? I wish I got that kind of mileage

What was your milaege before/after the headers? Hard to tell if there's a real issue at hand when we dont know how much it dropped.

Well, i dont have exact numbers, but before i would be able to make a full tank last 3 days, and that is driving 40 miles to work, then driving around base all day, and still messing around alittle with the local yokles on the interstate, now it seems it would be more acurate to say, under the same driving conditions that same tank will last 2 days!

I get less than 200 miles a fill up. I fill up when I get to a 1/4 tank.

C'mon people. Fill tank, reset trip odometer. Drive. Refill tank, divide # of miles driven by # of gallons added and Voila. You have your gas milaege.

good example of why a tune is needed.if your o2s are reading lean the ecu is dumping in more fuel get it tuned

although i haven't installed long tubes yet on my car from my research it's a hit or miss with-out a tune. some people get better gas mileage and some don't. i still say give it a while with just normal driving and see if you pcm can adapt.

Just did my headers and ORY, and now I am getting around 150-160 miles till I hit the 1/4mark. I figured it would get a little better with a tune, but I am putting in a high stall torque converter so I am not expecting much improvement in the city.
