What's your budget? How fast do you want to spend?

First mod should be a stall, you'll wax your buddy.

Yeah stall, intake manifold, and headers should get you a good start. Blur is rite though you should smoke your buddy with a stall.

+2 for a stall. It's the first real mod I installed on my car and damn glad I did.

It must be tax time. All of a sudden, lots of people have $1,000 and want to know what to do first ha ha.

Have you read any of the stickys? There's a lot of good info up there, and it would help you to start formulating your own plan. If you start doing random mods, you're probably going to end up wasting money. And I guarantee, asking "what mod should I do first?" is going to yield $17,285 worth of suggestions...

The best suggestion I could give you would be to read up on LS1Tech for about a week, ask questions if anything isn't clear, and then decide for yourself what your first mods are going to be.

Also, don't forget to

Get a good stall and a set of 3.73's and you'll feel like you've got a different car.

Well first off.....if you don't have an airlid I would do that FIRST! 120 bucks and about an hour of your time. Then a stall or headers/exhaustwould be a great next mod! Texas Speed has a fantastic deal on PaceSetter headers and exhaust. Porting your throttle body is a great do it yourself mod. Descreening your MAF is another great do it yourself mod!

i appreciate all the insite guys, im most definitely getting the air lid this week, im aiming to do exhaust, then the gears and stall, what is the best suggestion on exhaust, i been search the last couple days and keep hearing mixed feelings about slp, corsa, borla, magnaflow, flowmaster(hear this is most restricting), all comes back to borla being probably the best but also the most, is there anything dif w/ doing a electric cut out??

be care with the exhaust. I'm a newb too in the midwest but only from listening to all the great people on this site would I be given heads up to this. If you end up doing headers, it could drastically affect the sound of the exhaust. Cutout could affect it too. Not that its a bad thing, just be careful and keep this in mind, as future mods could change the sound and maybe get you different numbers with the choices you make with the exhaust now and future mods. Just a heads up.

Check in the parts classified section. You can usually find one in there for around $325-$350. That is where I found the one I bought and it looks new for $325.

remember though if you get the stall but plan on getting a new tranny, your going to have to go through the process of paying to get it put on AGAIN
