Question Exhaust Banging?

I just bought a 2k Z and am having a very odd noise under hard launching. It sounds like the exhaust is banging somewhere near the rear end. The exhaust is Pacesetter LT's, TSP catless y-pipe and a Magnaflow Catback. I have had it on jackstands and looked all around and can't see any scarring or when I shake it I doesn't seem to come close to anything. I have done it with the suspension sprung and unsprung. Now I have read on here that the LT's will hit but unless the sound travels the subframe or some other part I can't assume from driving it that the noise has come from the front of the car. HELP PLEASE it's very annoying

The banging is mainly done under the drivers seat near the trans cross member. The bumpstop works pretty well and poly mounts do the trick. If its near the rear then I have no clue. Good luck!

if its near the rear you might need better hangers or better placement

It is probably due to the fact that it was a manufactured y-pipe. Custom pipes rarely bang. Not saying that there is anything wrong wiht that pipe. just depends on headers and how much your motor moves...ect. There are several different factors that can either cause or prevent it from banging. I tied a rag around one for a friend, and to my knowledge he still rolls it to this day like that.

Thanks guys. It was the Y pipe for sure...did a little more detective work when I was putting in the short throw (having ambition enough) and noticed some spots where it had been hitting.

It could still be near the axle or Panhard too. I had a banging like that on launch, I could never find it, but when I was taking off my old system, I discovered the over-the-axle pipe was about 1/16" from the Panhard.
