Default remote oil filter installation

I want to install my oil filter remotely so that I can make my oil pan wider for better capacity. My engine (6.0 liter) has the stock remote oil cooler and I was wondering if I can use these cooler lines to hook up my remote filter instead of using an adapter off the original filter location? If so, which line is the outlet and which is the inlet (I need the filter before the cooler).
Also, what height should the remote filter be compared to its original location (or does it matter?) and how far from the engine can it be (I was thinking to mount it on the radiator support, next to the cooler)?
Any comment or ideas is appreciated!
