massive engine missfire after alt change

massive engine missfire after alt change I had my alternator go out on my 00 ws6 and after i changed it and took it our for a drive it just starts to buck and missfire so i took out the spark plugs and and all ones on the drivers sides or the odd # cly are all douced in fuel and are carboned up what would cause this i checked all the spark pulg wires all teh grounds and just abotu anything else anone else have any ideas that im not thinking of\?
