Question Those with American Racing Headers: Come on inside !

Got a question for anyone who has bought and installed the American Racing Headers:
Did you use the gaskets they sent or the stock-style GM metal gaskets?
These header gaskets are some sort of metallic type, not paper like most, but not sure whether to use them or stock ones?
Main reason for wondering is, the flanges on these headers are not exactly miror smooth, you know where the go onto the heads, they are slightly rough. So maybe the stock type would not seal as well?

thanks all

I would say it's pretty much up to you.

I know with other headers many have just used the stock GM ones which were on the car or purchased new stockers. But, I'm sure ARH sent you a high quality set of gaskets, so I would use what they supplied

Congrats on getting a badass set of headers!
Be sure to post up some pics and results

Thanks cobrakillerta,

I just emailed Nick at ARH, and he got back to me within just a few minutes!
He said either kind will work just fine, so I will probably just use what they sent as they look to be of good quality (they appear to be of the same material that GM uses on some of their gaskets, like the ones for the AIR and EGR fittings on the stock manifolds ) ,besides the dealer closest to me only has ONE gasket in stock so getting the stock type is a PIA if i want to get this done quick.
I will post some pics soon of the American Racing headers, these are super nice! I might even post a pic of them next to my old FLP headers & Y-pipe they will be replacing when i get the FLP's off the car..

with my hookers, I used both. The flanges are rough, so I used the thicker hooker gaskets on the flange side, and used the gm steel on the head side.

this way, the gasket will never get stuck onto the head, and you never have to scrape the head to get the old gasket off. but you also get a great seal on the rough flanges.
