You could prob get away with only one cut if it were jacked up higher.
Others have suggested removing the pass side rear tire to help aswell.

Seems as if the exhaust system was put in the car before the rear axle went in during the manufacturing process.

dirtjohn, it looks as if you made a cut in hump part, and i have a cutout right after my Y which should make it easier, i jsut wanna try to take off the stock exhaust after the Y in one piece, in the rare case i might put it back on if i get hassled for illegal exhaust...but I do live in the motory city, Detroit, MI...and they simply dont give a F***

If you jack up the back of the car, unbolt the PHR (+ upper brace) and shocks and lower the rear by letting it hang on the LCA's (being careful not to let it rip out the brake lines), it will come out over the axle in one piece and isn't that hard. Take off the passenger rear tire and you'll get a little more room as well.

I fire up the old Oxy-Acetelyne hot wrench. However that does not really keep it one piece. Why not just cut it up?

yeah im just gonna cut it, but i need something reliable to cut it with.....im not sure how long a saw would take....i'll probably end up cutting it.....

Also will it sound terrible with just my LT's and my ORY? Im not concerned about loud at all....but a bad sound would not be cool

Keeping in mind that the exhaust systems passes right beneath the gas tank?

Yeah, I wouldn't use a torch. Sawsall worked fine for me on both of my previous f-bodies. Just make the cut right where it goes up/over the axle like in the pic above. I had the car on 4 rhino ramps and had pleanty of room.

I took off the rear section of it with a sawzall.

After the bitch of a time I had with the headers, I ain't going back to stock. I figure I can pass with a good tune, we don't really do visuals up here and rumors have been flying about ODBII scans for emissions tests to speed up the process...

HP Tuners here we come...

Hacksaw...because I like a challenge. It shouldn't be a problem to get it welded back together if you ever needed to.
