Default leaking coolant!

i recently installed a hypertech 160 thermostat and ever since my car's temp hasn't seemed to lower at all and im leaking a little bit of coolant out. i switched from the dexcool to distilled water with water wetter added in. anybody have any thoughts on whats causing this?

hmmm i checked the seal and it seemed fine. i hope its not the thermostat(just bought the #$% thing) there is some brown gunk leftover from the dexcool, and i'm afraid that its causing the distilled water to boil

I didn't catch where you live, but I would suggest running a Dexcool mixture instead of just water. Dexcool does more than water alone. As for the leak, maybe the water pump? I had a water pump go out on an LT1 and the only evidence was a fine mist of coolant showing up in odd places. I don't know how similar in design the LT1 and LS1 water pumps are. Maybe also check the ends of all your hoses, to make sure they're sealing properly...
