Default annoying squeal from the water pump how to rid of?

i rebuilt an engine completely. i re-used the original water pump since no problems seem to occur from it. after the first start up and for the next week i got an annoying squeal but it went away. then the pump started leaking, so i replaced it with a brand new one. well this brand new one makes the same squeal. you cant hear it at an idle, but when you give it a rev the squeal gets louder and louder with each increasing rpm

any suggestions?

Are you sure it's the pump? Have you tried a new belt?

The water pump to me would seem like it would be the quiet one. You sure it isn't the A/C Idler?

If it is indeed the WP then you'll need to replace it. Cant do anything about sealed bearings.

And I agree with the others, check the tensioner pulleys and others first. If the WP starts squeeling it usually leaks. Havent had one go bad on an ls1 yet but thats what happens to most of them.

i can understand everyone when they say to replace the water pump. The original pump made the same noise, then started leaking. This brand new one is squealing, soo I will be expecting it to start leaking. Im 100% sure its the water pump. My a/c isnt hooked up(knocks that one out lol). i can put more tenion on the main belt tensioner and it still makes the noise, which removes the belt issue. After my old water pump started leaking, the noise stopped. Soo before this new water pump was installed there was not a squealing noise. thats how i know its for sure the water pump

thanks guys! good thing i got the lifetime warranty on it!
