My mouse squeels - pulley question?
Once again my pulleys are squeeling like a pig at 57K.
I replaced the idler arm on top of the engine with an aftermarket unit that seemed to work well for 10K miles or so.
Unfortunately, the squeeling has returned.
Is this likely to be the A/C idler arm on the bottom of the engine?
...this blows - more GM defects!

go get a Goodyear gatorback belt. It will stop. I replaced both pulleys, and iders and still had it with a new NAPA belt. Another post said the GATORBACK belt would fix it and it did, quiet. Blew me away, as the NAPA belt was 3 months old.

gm has a new idler pulley and alternator bracket that fixed my problem. I was working at chevy dealer at the time and searched through the service bulletin list and found they had a new bracket and pulley that brought the belt into better alignment to keep it from squeeking. I had done like you in replacing belts and tensioners before it found that and since then the only time I've changed belts is when i put on the underdrive pulley and again when I put on the overdrive alternator pulley. the belt may not look like its out of alignment by much if any it won't be off by much at all i think that the belt is moved over probably 1/32 of an inch or so but it makes all the difference.
