Default LS6 Install Checklist

Hey guys, I just got my new LS6 this week and want to put it on this weekend. Just wondering what I will need. I'm going to go the grinding route and use my ls1 coolent lines. In my understanding this offers better cooling of #7 and #8. Intake has the seals on it, anything else I need. Through searching I've found out about breaking the senser off in the back. Best way to not do this? Also plan on reseting the computer to relearn the imporved airflow, right? Anything else I need, or anything else I need to do...?

Some clothes pins to hold the back intake bolts up versus growing 3 more hands, razor blade or scraper to take off leftover **** on the intake ports on the heads, and since you're using the LS1 lines and going the grinding route, no LS6 line/plugs. Don't forget that since the LS6 has no EGR you'll need block off plates for the headers/manifolds. Good luck. The clips on the cowl will cut up your arms like a cheese grater, but that's part of the fun.

Make sure you lift the manifold up before you pull it out, doing so will save the oil pressure sending unit.

You are going to need a fuel line disconnector.

To take off the fuel line leading to the rails on the driver's side.

Leave the fuel line connected, you can flip the whole rail upside down and over the drivers side valve cover and ABS control module.

Just be careful around that sending unit, it's probably old and fragile, I broke mine, but watch out for the map sensor too, make sure it is unplugged before you move the manifold. I would suggest this too, if you like some bling, I did mine.

Don't have to do black though.

If I were to paint it, it would be body color. I dont think white would look good at all so, lol. I like the stealth look too, retards wont even notice a difference when the hoods poped. If I got a FAST I would most likely paint it satin black and try to make it look factory.
