You need to scan the car and see what is happening. Maybe you have some knock retard or maybe your mixture is too rich or too lean. Make sure you don't have any air leaks in the intake system as well.

How many miles have you done after the mod?
If you have no air leaks then hopeully the new lid is allowing more air to enter the engine. It could take a say 100 miles for the fuel trims to adjust/relearn. The loss of power at 2500rpm could be fuel trim related, and over time this may iron itself out.
