Do you have a Z06 Intake Manifold?
Accordng to High Performance Pontiac Magazine, all 2001 and 2002 LS1 F-Bodies come stock with an LS6 Intake Manifold. Can anyone back this up?
Also, according to GM High Tech Performance Magazine, select few LS1 F-bodies have a LS6 blocks. According to the Block ID# they gave in the Magazine, I have an LS6 Block. Can anyone back this up?

Re: Do you have a Z06 Intake Manifold?
All 01+ F-cars have the LS6 intake, some 01+ F-cars do have the LS6 block, some have the LS1. It had to do with supply shortages I believe. Do a search on here, or on LS1.com. There was a thread about this a couple months ago.
The only real difference between blocks, to my knowledge, is openings in the bulkheads between cylinders. It supposedly relieves crankcase pressure at high RPM.

Re: Do you have a Z06 Intake Manifold?
LS6 intake is on all 01+ as mentioned.
LS6 block is in a few (10%?) 01s and some (25%) 02s. The LS6 block has "improved bay-to-bay breathing", and has a different casting process & materials to make it stronger. Probably doesn't make a *huge* difference, but I'm sure it doesn't hurt.
I have the LS1 block... :/
good luck,
Shane
