Default A few ?'s about switching from factory rockers to comps stud/guide plate rocker kit?

Hey Guys;

I was looking in to replacing the factory rockers with a set of guide plate/ rocker stud/ comp 1.7 rockers arms. Is it better then factory? How do you go about adjusting for preload? Do you do it at tdc and tighten just when the push rod gets a little harde to turn or can you you do it with the engine running and set the preload... with 2 1/4 turns in from 0 lash? Any experience or advice will help!!!!

You have to make sure your on the base circle of the cam for each valve, and I would think you use poly-locks to adjust the lash/lifter pre-load. On the ford motors I've always set 0 lash, and then 1/2 to 3/4 turn of preload. You could talk to a sponsor or where ever you bought your cam for how much preload you need.
