LQ4 Swap info
Ive got a 77 Datsun 280Z that I wanted to put an LS1 in..
Recent sources have directed me towards an LQ4 block/heads, with LS6 intake..
What all issues would I run into computer wise, as in which wiring harness should I use, LS1 harness or LQ4 truck harness.. not sure which would be easier tuning and installation wise.
The LQ4 is basically a direct copy of an LS1 block physically, correct? So if I used the LS1 swap motor mounts, it would work fine...
Also, a T56 should bolt right up.. correct? Is there anything I should know thats oging to stop me from mating them, or any computer conflict? Just trying to get a good idea of what I should do before going and spending the $. Thanks guys.

Also, one more thing... I have the Jags that run LS1 Datsun Headers in my room already. These should work with the LQ4 heads correct?
Anyone?

yes on the t56
ls1 harness fr tuning because more places have maps on the ls1 base tune for mods
compression on the lq4 will be lower because of the "dish" pistons.....keep that in mind
and yes the lq4 is a direct copy of a ls1 other that the alternator bracket mounts top side instead of lower drvr side

Would anyone have a tune for a LQ4 block and heads with LS6 intake? and would that be using the LS1 computer.. Im kinda confused on all of this and just need to clear up some things.
Use the LQ4 block and heads, LS6 intake.. would all the sensors for the LS1 harness work with the LQ4? Also when I begin to tune it, what would happen with a stock LS1 base tune on the 6.0.. Would it even run?
Soo many questions on this, so another.. My buddy has the HPTuners software for his 98 Trans am LS1, so would I be able to buy credits for an LS1 and tune it from there, or different.. or would it even work..

I called Wait4meperformance and he can do a standalone harness with a LQ4/LS6 intake/headers tune on an LS1 harness and computer.
Looks like this will be the way to go, and tune from there, hes said people have had alot of luck with his tune. Standalone and tune is only 300$
Awesome.
