How does the fast 78 intake stack up against the ls6 intake
Will the fast 78 outperform a ls6 intake? I am fixing to be installing a forged 347 with stage 2 heads the engine has about 12:1 compression which would be better I think I can get a good deal on a new fast 78 and it would cost a whole lot more than a ls6.

I really dont have any place answering this question as I have no experience with either but I am planning on getting a Vic JR or a fast 78 in the near future so I have done a lot of research in the fast 78.
Heres what I've read. Basically the more work you've done to the car the better the numbers on the dyno will be using the fast compared to the Ls6 intake. You've got a h/c car so you should see a good bit of difference between the Ls6 and the Fast 78. Even better about the fast 78 is the fact that internally its the exact same manifold as the fast 90. Each of the fast intakes is made of 3 layers, the fast 78 and fast 90 only have a different top layer which includes the opening for the throttle body. So what you could do later on is make a fast 78 into a fast 90 by replacing that top peice which you can find on ebay for short money because people either break their fast intake or blow it up (nitrous backfire) somewhat often. Also if you dont want to spring the extra cash for the 90mm throttle body you can get the PP 85mm Throttle body and mate it to the fast 78 intake, then port the opening of the fast 78 from 78mm to nearly 85, so you'de have a fast 85... in essence, which should be within 5hp of a fast 90 intake, even on a pretty extreme setup.

Whatever you do don't get a BBK. They suffer from severe heat soak. I hardly gained any power on the dyno and my car over heats. Im swapping mine for a fast 90. Its a better investment.
