Header Selection Dilemma
I see a lot of threads about code problems after long tube installs, but haven't found any issues (so far) with mid length headers (Macs). What I don't have a feel for is whether I see so many threads about long tubes and codes because there's a high percentage of long tube installs throwing codes or just because so many more people have LTs than Macs.
I definitely want headers, but I have to pass emissions (obd-II) and would rather not have hassles like I see in threads like this one started by Shevrolayz28:

I really don't like the idea of just turning the codes off, either.
So what's the deal? Are LTs code-prone and Macs aren't?

The only code i can see from long tubes is having no cats. If you got long tubes with a catted y-pipe, then you wouldnt have a code. MAcs will also have a code if you dont get the version with cats

Most people delete their AIR/EGR whenever they install headers and that usually sets off an SES light. The only other code that should be thrown is for the rear O2's if you don't put sims on them.
