I upgraded from Macs to longtubes a few years back and the difference in sound alone made the swap worth it to me. You'll gain some low-mid range power and maybe a couple ponies up top too.

yes i would say it would be without a doubt with the mods that you have in your sig! i think it would even help a mostly stock car to make the switch...

My experience:

MACs, MAC Y-pipe with HF cats', canned tune - 334
Standard QTPs, QTP catd' Y-pipe and HF cats', dyno' tune - 354
QTP HVMCs, QTP catd' Y-pipe and HF cats', dyno' tune - 366

These were on the same dyno' and the same tuner. They were on different days though.

My point - it certainly won't hurt to go long tubes. Is it worth the blood, sweat, and tears? That's up to you. The sound is certainly better, IMHO, but the difference in power was enough for me.

Good luck either way. Just make sure you go with a set that you know you'll be happy with.

For the sound alone it is worth it. Never had mid's, but have heard them--much quieter.

Not worth the swap, loose ground clearance and more money that could be spent else where.

I went from macs to dynamaxx race headers and picked up over 20hp from 3100rpm all the way to 4600 rpm. It made my car 1.5 tenths quicker in the 1/4.

Is there really that much ground difference between LTs and the Mids? Doesnt the collector just come out further? I have mids right now and I'm debating on redoing the entire exhaust after I replace the rear. Looking at LTs but with the G2 SS's installed I'm lllooowww. But if we are only talking a few inches then its no biggie.

I say its worth it, for now and future mods you do to your car down the road. You should check out the TSP 1 7/8 LTs, they are at a very reasonable price.

I have MACs and I'm ditching them for the TSP 1 7/8" LTs. I had to have the MACs flanges chopped out and welded up just to stop them from leaking. My buddy has better clearance in his Z with Hooker LTs and 3" ORY. In my experience, MACs are poo, LTs kick ***!

After seeing the input from these guys, I'm getting more and more excited about getting these things off of my car.

I was reading that 1 7/8th collector is to much for a mild cam car, would the MS3 be considered mild w/spray? I am looking at these also.

I went from Mac's to Pacesetters and it was well worth it. Better sound and more power.

the mac cats are about as bad as stockers. im considering going to the cheap headers just for the stainless material and the fact i will have a 408 in a year or so, so i guess it cant hurt to try them for 200 bucks. we'll see

The macs are WAY better than stock. You must have not used MACS so you are basing this assumption on internet rumor.

Macs with the MAC cats, MAYBE but their ORY and mids are a decent mod. IMHO, I made 399RWHP with mac mids and I think they are fine. Is it worth it for me to switch to LT's? Nah, i'd probably only gain 5-10 MAYBE so the cost and labor isn't worth it.

i run macs, i was refering to their cats. i have the ory, and i love it, i might switch just for the stainless steal

might jet keep em till i get the 408 and do a before/after to see how they are on a big cube motor, they are just as good as lt's on stock cubes

i've been thinking about switching for the stainless myself but I just can't justify the labor or cost for the minimal gain.
