Default how to tell a u/d pulley?

so i bought my car thru a dealership already slightly modded, the more i mod, the more i run into things i hadn't noticed before. how would i be able to tell a u/d pulley from a stock pulley?

the only reason i ask is because i though i had an alterantor problem but it tested fine. so i figured the alternator might not be charging very well if its spinning too slowly...ergo...u/d pulley.

so how would you tell?

the stock one is like 7 inches across and huge an probably rusted. An aftermarket one probably wont rust really and most ive seen are black and small and have a brand name on it.
