Default cutout on a 2001 SS QUESTION

What kind of performance gains would a cutout make on a stock engine just air mods would you notice an et difference and how much in the 1/8 roughly?
Also is there any exhaust leak at all?

You'd see a decent gain. At least .1/1mph. Depends on what you have for a muffler configuration. If it's the stock muffler (not the dual/dual), you'll get a good 10rwhp from it.

The exhaust leak question is kinda silly, because a cutout is a giant exhaust leak, that's the whole point.

I think what he means is when the cut out is closed. I would like to know also. I know some might but how bad is it?

Nope, the cutout cap comes with some kind of cardboard gasket on it. Never had a problem with it leaking. If you're ****, rip it off, and use some high temp RTV (the gold stuff) to seal it. Or get one of those crushable copper gaskets from summit.
