EWP...gain more as engine power increases?
so i was watching Horsepower TV the other day....i know i know...but their engine dyno tests are pretty cool sometimes.
they tested an electric water pump on a small block.
ended up picking up somthing like 3hp and 3# torque on a sub 300hp (crank) engine.
would it be safe to assume you could gain more than that...say 5-7hp on an engine putting out 450-500 crank hp such as a h/c LSx motor?
also not sure what they spun the motor to, but i would think you could see more power if you spun to 6500rpm compared to only 6000 or so.
just some random babbling for a boring tuesday.

The HP gain should stay the same, because it doesn't matter what size of engine you have the regular water pump will "always" take 3hp (for example) to turn. However if you spin the motor higher then you should see more power, but that is dependant of the setup.
