Default Custom tune versus tuner

Just wondering what your thoughts are on the following.02 camaro ss 6 speed ,has Slp exhaust, stock manifolds(for etest reasons)slp air intake complete ram air kit, free mods,an 03 Z06 cam and springs with texas speed pushrods.(A) is there any advantage to a tune at all,if so would one the hand held units be good,or would a custom tune be better? Not really interested in knowing how much power it has ie dyno-test,but i want as much low end power as possible.Has anyone tried both,to know the difference. Thanks

A "Real" tune is always going to be better if you got a decent tuner. IF you look in the current gm hi tech they have like 10 handheld units and show you the hp/tq and timing for each unit. But most cost as much as a "Real" tune, so I would go ahead and just get it tuned and having dynoed is always fun.
