Default Valve cover with one elbow not 2?

Sorry for the vague title. I'm looking at picking up a par of valve covers to play with. My valve covers on my '03 vette engine has 2 metal elbows on the passenger side, I'm guessing some kind of PCV nipples.

I've seen a few pairs of centerbolt valve covers with only one metal nipple. Why is that?

I plan on using an LS6 valley cover to do the LS6 PCV system, if that matters.

Thanks
